A fellow LD rider and web design expert took the idea of SPOT GPS tracking and totally customized it for rally riders. By leveraging data transmitted by the SPOT unit, using several other web technologies, and aggregating data in his maps…..he’s built the custom tracking method.

During the rally you’ll be able to see every point I’m at….and have been for the whole rally.
When the IBR happens you’ll be able to see details here….but nothing has happened yet.
To see me riding around as a test look at this sample.
SPOT is becoming the best way to track riders by family, friends, and specators. Expect more riders during the rally this year to be doing this.
I had big plans to do a bunch to the FJR this winter, but combined with a limited bank account and long winter….I just rode her for the first time in like 4 months. She’s so frickin’ crusty from probably 20,000 miles without being washed and paintball crud is like cement on the paint.
However, with her road worthy I can start riding her again and chipping away at the maintenance pieces.
Big thing is the front forks and shock have been completely rebuilt after 40,000 miles of harsh service. And there’s fresh rubber on the rear. And I have new steering head bearings that were long overdue.
Next bigger project is probably the cam chain tensioner or the Starcom outage I experienced in SPANK last August.
